IEC 60099 · Polymer Housings · 10–35 kV
Polymer-housed metal-oxide surge arresters for 10–35 kV distribution and substation protection — IEC 60099-4 distribution class.
Polymer-housed metal-oxide surge arresters protect medium-voltage transformer and distribution equipment against lightning and switching overvoltages. Correct selection depends on system voltage, earthing arrangement, pollution level and required MCOV.
We coordinate the technical and commercial details with the appropriate manufacturing partner before confirming price, lead time and documents.
Project-configured equipment supplied through qualified manufacturing partners; rating, documentation and delivery schedule are confirmed before order acceptance.
Datasheet, dimensional or wiring information, inspection records and export documents are provided where applicable to the selected configuration.
| Standard | IEC 60099-4 (distribution arresters) |
| Housing | Polymer / silicone rubber, hydrophobic |
| Nominal Discharge Current | 10 kA (8/20 µs) typical for distribution class |
| High-Current Impulse | 100 kA (4/10 µs) per IEC 60099-4 |
| Pressure Relief | Venting design per manufacturer type test |
| Pollution Level | Heavy-pollution design; creepage distance by voltage class |
| MCOV Selection | Uc ≥ continuous phase-to-ground voltage; confirm system grounding |
Parameters above reflect standard export configurations. Exact values for your voltage class, ratio or kVA rating are confirmed against the factory datasheet in the quotation before order acceptance.
Gapless zinc-oxide valve elements respond quickly to lightning and switching overvoltages without a series gap.
Silicone-rubber housing provides outdoor insulation, weather resistance and stable leakage performance under polluted conditions.
Rated voltage and continuous operating voltage are selected against system grounding, temporary overvoltage and insulation-coordination requirements.
Mounting brackets, line terminals, earth leads and discharge counters can be specified for the installation arrangement.
Protect MV transformer bushings and terminals from lightning and switching surges.
Install at overhead-line transitions, pole-mounted equipment and feeder terminals for coordinated surge protection.
Apply at switchgear, cable terminations and bus sections where insulation coordination requires a defined arrester duty.
Use on renewable-energy collector systems after checking grounding method, cable length and inverter surge-protection coordination.
| Model | Specification |
| HY5WS-10/30 (10 kV system) | Ur 10 kV · Uc 8.0 kV · 10 kA class · solidly grounded 10 kV |
| HY5WS-24/72 (24 kV system) | Ur 24 kV · Uc 19.5 kV · 10 kA class |
| HY5WS-36/100 (35 kV system) | Ur 36 kV · Uc 29.0 kV · 10 kA class |
| Station class (on inquiry) | Higher energy absorption for capacitor banks or special duty — specify system study |
Exact ratings for your system voltage and duty are confirmed in the quotation against the factory datasheet. Custom configurations available on inquiry.
For solidly grounded systems, Uc is typically 70–85% of nominal system voltage (e.g. 8.0–8.4 kV for 10 kV). Ungrounded or impedance-grounded systems require higher Uc — share your grounding arrangement.
