Ningxia Data Centre Power Infrastructure Expansion

An anonymised project profile for a high-availability data-centre power infrastructure expansion.

Domestic Project Reference

Support a High-Availability Data-Centre Power Expansion

Our role: Dry-type transformer auxiliary-equipment coordination, MRO spare planning, monitoring-interface preparation and product support.

Availability objective

A Ningxia data-centre expansion reviewed transformer auxiliary cooling as part of power-system resilience, not simply as a replacement-parts order.

Technical risk

A fan could be dimensionally similar yet deliver the wrong airflow direction, controller behaviour or safe clearance for the installed enclosure.

Supplied package

Cross-flow fans and operational spares, mounting confirmation, controller-interface records and preparation for temperature monitoring.

Cooling was an availability issue

The transformers served a staged, high-availability power environment. That made maintainability important: a suitable fan had to be identifiable, replaceable and testable without turning every future intervention into a new engineering exercise.

A fan-only replacement would not have been enough

The review connected motor supply and frequency with mounting centres, discharge orientation, guard clearance, cable routing and the temperature controller's automatic and alarm commands. The spare strategy used the same confirmed configuration so stored units would remain useful.

Readiness checks

  • Mechanical fit and the intended airflow path were checked against the transformer enclosure.
  • Controller voltage, wiring and alarm logic were documented for the commissioning team.
  • Spare quantity, nameplate identity and replacement access were recorded for maintenance planning.

Project close-out

The asset file captured the installed fan model, wiring information and initial operating observations. Transformer loading limits continued to follow the manufacturer's thermal design; the cooling package supported that design but did not redefine it.
